Ronald Dague, 18 year prosecutor, has spent his entire legal career working to keep Milwaukee County safe for the families and citizens who are working to bring up their families and enjoy this great county. He is currently handling "cold case" homicides, and has worked a wide range of assignments in the Milwaukee County District Attorney Office. The following are just a few of the cases that he has handled, helping keep Milwaukee's parks, schools and streets a safe place that we can all use and enjoy:
Taking Milwaukee County Parks Back from the Gangs

State of Wisconsin v. Samuel Orozco-Martinez,
case no. 06CF001706, Attempted First Degree Homicide. Ronald
Dague convicted violent south side Milwaukee gang member of
shooting victim in the head in Kosciusko Park. Defendant is
now serving a 28 year prison sentence. |
Fighting to Keeps Guns Out of Our Schools
| In the Interest of Isaiah B, ADA Ronald Dague fought and
won the right of school officials to search school lockers
when guns could be concealed there. The case went
to the Wisconsin Supreme Court which agreed with the arguments of
Ronald Dague, helping principals to keep guns out of schools. The
case today, cited in Wisconsin Courts and in other states around
the country, still gives the teachers and staff a valuable tool
to help keep our schools safe.

Prosecutes Large Scale Cocaine Drug Conspiracy
State v. Rodney Davis, case no. 1996CF961166. Large scale cocaine trafficking
multi jurisdictional investigation and prosecution led by Ronald
Dague led to the arrest and conviction of over 17 major drug dealers
in State and Federal Court. Final scope of investigation and prosecution
extended beyond Wisconsin to other states that were shipping the
drugs into Milwaukee County.
Drug Dealer Who Killed Customer, Brought to Justice
State v. William Damon Avery, case no. 1998CF001583, ADA Dague convicted defendant Avery of Conspiracy to Deliver Controlled Substance, Cocaine, and Keeping a Drug House. Evidence developed from this prosecution led to homicide charges against William Avery for the death of Marietta Griffin, convicted in case no. 2004CF005022.
Protecting Victims of Domestic Violence

v. Alexis West, case no. 2006CF005264, Ronald Dague tried and
convicted gun carrying drug dealer defendant of beating and kicking
his girlfriend in the head, knocking her unconscious. Despite her
fear to come to court, Ronald Dague brought back the guilty verdict,
sending Alexis West to prison.

Standing for Justice, Ronald Dague clears Innocent Man Convicted of Armed Robbery
| State v. Melvin Smith, case no. 1993CF930544,
prosecutor Ronald Dague, conducted his own independent investigation
which cleared an innocent man convicted at jury trial of multiple
counts of armed robbery. Upon ADA Dague's motion, the court
vacated the verdict and dismissed the charges.

Full Time Homicide Prosecutor, Still fighting for Milwaukee County
Even during this campaign, Ronald Dague continues to work for Milwaukee County,
a full time Homicide Prosecutor in the Milwaukee District Attorney
Office. He is designated as the "Cold Case" homicide prosecutor, specializing in cases which are more than 5 years old. Here are some of the cases that he is handling now.

Felony Murder, Criminal complaint filed November 17, 2008. Complaint alleges that the victim was shot in the head during an attempted armed robbery, after the defendant had waited to ambush him. (open

State of Wisconsin v. Vincent Ray, case no. 08CF006386. First Degree Reckless Homicide. Criminal complaint alleges that Vincent Ray sold the heroin which Janet Locket used, causing her death on October 2, 2004. (open case) |
